- MANDATORY: Candidate's Name and Date of Photography must be printed at the bottom (1.5 cm / 55 pixels). Candidate image occupies 3.0 cm (115 pixels) above.
- Must be a recent colour passport-size photo taken in a photo studio with white background.

Photo exceeds 50KB
Camera phones produce 2–5MB images. The TNPSC portal caps uploads at 50KB — only about 2% of a typical 3MB phone photo.
Wrong pixel dimensions
Photos must be exactly 130×170px. Most phone cameras shoot much larger images that need precise cropping.
Incorrect background color
TNPSC requires a white background. Indoor photos, selfies, and studio photos with coloured backdrops are commonly rejected.
