What this page does

This page shows the handwritten declaration that IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB PO / IBPS RRB Clerk, SBI Clerk candidates must copy and upload, using the exact words printed in each official notification. The texts are placed side by side, the words that differ from the IBPS PO version are highlighted automatically, and each one links to its source page and to a compressor that sizes your scan for that exam.

How the declaration works

Why banks ask for a handwritten declaration

IBPS and SBI forms ask for four images: photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a short declaration in your own handwriting. The declaration is a confirmation that the details you entered are true, and the handwriting doubles as an identity check. At the exam centre or at document verification you may be asked to write the same text again, and the two samples are compared. That is why a typed or traced copy is not accepted from candidates who can write.

The wording is short, and the differences are small

All four texts share the same core sentence about the information being correct, true and valid. The differences are easy to miss when copying from memory or from a friend's sheet. The RRB notice changes a single verb in the second sentence. SBI adds a date-of-birth blank after the name and closes with an extra sentence confirming that the signature, photograph and thumb impression are yours. Copying the IBPS wording onto an SBI form, or the other way round, leaves you with a declaration that does not match what the bank printed, so pick your exam's text above and copy that one.

The comparison is generated, not marked by hand. The page breaks each official text into words and finds the longest run of words it shares with the IBPS PO version; whatever is left over is highlighted. Blanks are treated as equal whatever their length, because one notice prints a longer line of underscores than another for the same purpose.

Filling the blanks and keeping the wording exact

The first blank in every text is for your name, written as it appears in your application; the words in brackets after it only describe what belongs there. The SBI text has a second blank for your date of birth. Write it in the same format you used in the form and check it against your Class 10 certificate, because a date that differs from the form is an easy mismatch to spot.

Apart from the blanks, copy the printed text word for word, keeping its punctuation and sentence order. Small edits made from memory, such as “produce” in place of the printed verb or a missing “true and” in the middle, turn the bank's declaration into your own wording. Reading your sheet against the text above, one line at a time, catches most of these slips before you scan.

How to write it so it passes

The rules come from the notifications themselves. Write in English only, on white unruled paper, with a black pen, and keep to normal running handwriting.

  • IBPS Clerk notification: “The applicant has to write the declaration in English only clearly on a white paper with black ink.”
SourceIBPS Detailed Notification, CRP CSA-XVI (Customer Service Associates, vacancies of 2027-28)p. 53 (PDF p. 56) · Annexure IV, Hand-written declaration Image“The applicant has to write the declaration in English only clearly on a white paper with black ink.”Open official PDF ↗
  • IBPS Clerk notification: “The text should NOT BE IN CAPITAL LETTERS”
SourceIBPS Detailed Notification, CRP CSA-XVI (Customer Service Associates, vacancies of 2027-28)p. 54 (PDF p. 57) · Annexure IV, Hand-written declaration Image“The text should NOT BE IN CAPITAL LETTERS”Open official PDF ↗
  • SBI Clerk notification: “Signature/ Hand-written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted.”

Leave a little space around the text, keep the lines straight, and avoid crossing out. If you make a mistake, start again on a fresh sheet; a corrected declaration looks careless and may be questioned when it is compared with your writing later.

From paper to an upload-ready file

The scan has its own size rules, separate from the wording. IBPS and SBI give the declaration as 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI, which works out to about 10 cm wide and 5 cm tall when printed: 800 pixels divided by 200 dots per inch is 4 inches, or roughly 10 cm. Write the text so it fits a rectangle of about that proportion, two units wide for every one unit tall, and it will scale cleanly to the required size without squashing. The compressor linked under each text applies that exam's KB range and pixel size, and runs on your device.

How to use it

  1. Find your exam. Locate your exam in the comparison below and read its text in full, including the highlighted parts.
  2. Write it by hand. Copy the text in English, in your normal running handwriting, with a black pen on plain white paper. Do not use capital letters.
  3. Fill the blanks. Put your name in the name blank. For SBI, also write your date of birth exactly as on your Class 10 certificate.
  4. Photograph or scan the page. Capture the paper flat in daylight and crop close to the writing so the text fills the frame.
  5. Compress to size. Open the declaration compressor for your exam, linked under each text, to get the required pixel size and KB range.
  6. Upload and keep the original. Upload the JPG in the declaration field and keep the paper, as you may need to write it again at verification.
