How this tool works
This tool scales your photo to its own width, up to 1,000 pixels and saves a JPG between 20 KB and 50 KB, the Delhi Police limit for SI (Sub-Inspector). It lowers JPEG quality only as far as needed to stay under 50 KB, and pads a file that comes out below 20 KB without changing the picture. It does not replace backgrounds, so take the photo against a light-coloured background.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this photo resizer tool officially provided by Delhi Police?
No. FreeApplyTools is an independent utility platform. However, the engine is hardcoded to strictly follow the official Delhi Police notification rules for 2026.
What happens if my photo is larger than 50KB?
The official Delhi Police portal will block your upload and throw an error. This tool prevents that by automatically capping the output size to within 20KB–50KB.
What photo format does Delhi Police 2026 accept?
Most government portals accept only JPEG/JPG format. Our tool automatically converts and compresses your photo to the correct format.
Common SI (Sub-Inspector) Photo Upload Errors
"File size exceeds 50KB"
The Delhi Police portal rejects photos above 50KB. Our tool automatically caps the output to stay within 20–50KB.
"Invalid image dimensions"
Photos must match the specified aspect ratio. Our resizer auto-crops to the exact pixel spec.
"Photo rejected — wrong background"
Delhi Police requires a light-coloured background. Selfies or photos taken indoors often have grey/dark tones that trigger rejection.
