How this tool works
This tool scales your signature to at most 1000 pixels wide and saves a JPG between 20 KB and 300 KB for IES / ISS (Economic & Statistical). It keeps quality as high as the 300 KB limit allows and pads a file that comes out under 20 KB without changing the image. It does not change ink colour, so sign in black ink on plain white paper.

- MANDATORY: Image must contain EXACTLY THREE identical signatures signed vertically (one below the other).
- Must be signed on plain, unruled white paper using only BLACK ink.
- Inadequate spacing between signatures or using blue ink will trigger rejection.

No. FreeApplyTools is an independent utility. The engine follows official UPSC notification rules for 2026.
Why is my signature being rejected?
Signatures are often rejected if in wrong ink color (e.g., blue when black is required), on lined paper, or over 300KB. Our tool fixes the file size.
Common IES / ISS (Economic & Statistical) Signature Upload Errors
"File size exceeds 300KB"
The UPSC portal blocks uploads above 300KB. Our compressor automatically reduces to 20–300KB.
"Signature not in black ink"
Many applicants sign in blue or pencil. UPSC explicitly requires black ink on plain white paper.
"Signature scanned on lined/ruled paper"
