1 Register on the Official Portal
All UGC-NET applications start on the official recruitment portal. Ensure you are on the correct, government-operated website.
Visit ugcnet.nta.nic.in NEVER share your login credentials, OTP, or payment details with third parties. UGC-NET will never call you asking for these.
2 Upload Photograph
Strict Photo Rules for UGC-NET
- File size: 10KB – 200KB
- Background: white
- • JPG/JPEG format only. Passport-size colour or black & white photograph.
- • 80% face (including both ears) must be visible. White background mandatory.
- • No masks, caps, goggles or dark glasses. Spectacles allowed only if worn regularly.
- • Polaroid, computer-generated or heavily edited photos are strictly prohibited.
- • Keep 6-8 identical passport-size photographs for use at the examination centre.
3 Upload Signature
Strict Signature Rules for UGC-NET
- File size: 10KB – 50KB
- Ink color: blue or or or black
- • JPG/JPEG format only. Full signature in running handwriting on white paper with Blue/Black ink pen.
- • Writing name in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted as a valid signature.
- • Candidate must upload his/her own signature only. Uploading someone else's signature is treated as Unfair Means (UFM).
4 Review & Submit Application
- Double-check name spelling exactly as it appears on your 10th Marks card.
- Ensure category selection (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) is correct as it cannot be changed later.
- Save the final Application Form PDF and Payment Receipt PDF immediately after submission.
