How this tool works
This tool scales your signature to its own width, up to 500 pixels and saves a JPG between 30 KB and 49 KB for ALP / Technician. It keeps quality as high as the 49 KB limit allows and pads a file that comes out under 30 KB without changing the image. It does not change ink colour, so sign in black ink on plain white paper.

- File size: 30KB – 49KB
- Ink color: black
- CRITICAL: Sign on plain white paper with a BLACK ink pen ONLY. Blue ink will be rejected.
- Signature must be in running/cursive handwriting. BLOCK, CAPITAL, or DISJOINTED letters will result in immediate rejection.
- Scan the signed paper using a minimum resolution of 100 DPI.
- PwBD candidates unable to sign may upload a scanned fingerprint (Left/Right thumb or any feasible finger).

Is this signature tool officially provided by RRB?
No. FreeApplyTools is an independent utility. The engine follows official RRB notification rules for 2026.
Why is my signature being rejected?
Signatures are often rejected if in wrong ink color (e.g., blue when black is required), on lined paper, or over 49KB. Our tool fixes the file size.
Common ALP / Technician Signature Upload Errors
"File size exceeds 49KB"
The RRB portal blocks uploads above 49KB. Our compressor automatically reduces to 30–49KB.
"Signature not in black ink"
Many applicants sign in blue or pencil. RRB explicitly requires black ink on plain white paper.
"Signature scanned on lined/ruled paper"
Use blank white paper. Notebook lines in the scan are a common rejection reason across government exam portals.
