Every year, thousands of Central Bureau of Investigation applications are rejected due to incorrect photograph and signature formats. Follow this strict guide to ensure your registration is accepted.
1 Register on the Official Portal
All CBI applications start on the official recruitment portal. Ensure you are on the correct, government-operated website.
Visit ibps.in NEVER share your login credentials, OTP, or payment details with third parties. CBI will never call you asking for these.
2 Upload Photograph
Strict Photo Rules for CBI
- File size: 20KB – 50KB
- Dimensions: 200 × 230 px
- Background: light
- Face must occupy exactly 80% of the photograph.
- Red-eye effect must be completely removed if using flash.
- No dark glasses or tinted lenses permitted.
3 Upload Signature
Strict Signature Rules for CBI
- File size: 10KB – 20KB
- Dimensions: 140 × 60 px
- Ink color: black
- MANDATORY: Signatures in CAPITAL LETTERS will be summarily rejected.
- Must be signed on white paper with Black Ink pen only.
- Must not be smudged or overwritten.
4 Review & Submit Application
- Double-check every field — name spelling, DOB, category, photo, and signature.
- Take a screenshot / printout of the confirmation page with your registration ID.
- Save the payment receipt PDF. Most boards send confirmation via email / SMS.
